MEN’S BASKETBALL | 12-13 overall, 7-9 GNAC
LAST WEEK: 1-1 | THIS WEEK: at Western Oregon (Feb. 16), at Concordia (Feb. 18)
After a heartbreaking loss at home to in-state rival Alaska Anchorage, the Alaska Nanooks men’s basketball team bounced back to defeat the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets 83-74 in GNAC play. The Nooks will continue their hunt to the conference tournament this week, traveling to Western Oregon on Thursday, Feb. 16 before taking on the Concordia Cavaliers on Saturday, Feb. 18. Tip-off at WOU is scheduled for 6:30pm AKST, while Saturday’s matchup is slated for 7:15pm AKST.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL | 11-12 overall, 7-9 GNAC
LAST WEEK: 0-2 | THIS WEEK: vs. Seattle Pacific (Feb. 16), vs. Saint Martin’s (Feb. 18)
The Alaska Nanooks women’s basketball team will host their final two home games of the 2016-17 season this week, taking on the Seattle Pacific Falcons on Thursday, Feb. 16 before facing the Saint Martin’s Saints on Saturday, Feb. 18.

Thursday’s game against SPU will feature a Date Night with the Nanooks promotion where fans can buy one ticket, get one ticket free and will also be the Nanooks’ annual Play for Kay game.

Saturday’s game will also be Senior Night to honor Autumn Childers, Gabriela Jimenez, Jaylee Mays, Victoria Milton, Kaillee Skjold and Jordan Wilson.

HOCKEY | 9-18-3 overall, 8-13-3 WCHA
LAST WEEK: 0-2 | THIS WEEK: vs. Lake Superior State (Feb. 17-18)
After facing one of the hottest teams in the country and suffering a sweep on the road to the Northern Michigan Wildcats, the Alaska Nanooks hockey team returns to the Carlson Center for their final home series of the 2016-17 regular season to host the Lake Superior State Lakers in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association series Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 18. Puck-drop both nights is slated for 7:07pm AKST.

The Alaska Nanooks are running three ticketing promotions throughout both games this week, including Date Night with the Nooks (buy one ticket, get one ticket free), first 250 people through the door will receive a free Alaska Nanooks cowbell and upgrade all general admission tickets to reserved seating for just $5 a game (must be done at the Patty Center Ticket Office).

Saturday’s game will also be Senior Night to honor Marcus Basara, Josh Erickson, Davis Jones and Brandon Morley.

LAST WEEK: Idle | THIS WEEK: at NCAA Qualifiers (Feb. 18)
After taking second in the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships two weeks ago, the Alaska Nanooks rifle team will head to Morgantown, West Virginia to shoot in an NCAA Qualifying Match with the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday, Feb. 18. The Nanooks will travel back to Fairbanks and await the NCAA Rifle Championships Selection Show on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

  • Swimming: TBA (NCAA Championships, Mar. 8-11)

Charlie O’Toole Show
Catch a member of the Alaska Nanooks Hockey staff on the Charlie O’Toole show this upcoming Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 8-8:30am AKST on KFBX 970AM Fairbanks. The duo will be discussing the upcoming home weekend against the Lake Superior Lakers.

WCHA Launches Mid-Season Streaming Packages
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association launched their mid-season streaming packages last month, just in time for viewers to keep up with their favorite team’s second-half games. Fans can enjoy a league-wide pass for $64.99, a single-team pass for $44.99 and a single-team, road games-only package for $29.99 available now on WCHA.tv.
Can’t Make it to a Game?
All Alaska Nanooks volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball games (home and away) can be followed through the Alaska Nanooks Stretch Internet Portal free of charge. Fans can follow the games through the live stream, live stats or both.

All Alaska Nanook hockey games (home and away) can be heard live through ESPN 820AM Fairbanks or online at 820sports.com. Additionally, fans have the option to watch the games live for a small fee on WCHA.tv.
